The Guidance Department Mission

The mission of the Edisto High School Guidance Department is to assist students in developing life goals, and in developing strategies for meeting these goals.

The Guidance Department complements parents and teachers  in preparing students for life after high school by:

• Developing a curriculum for each student befitting interests and aptitudes
• Providing information and guidance regarding career choices and future employment opportunities
• Providing options and advice concerning the post-secondary education the student may  require in order to attain career goals and provide assistance to the student in selecting the most efficacious educational opportunities
• Providing information to students and parents concerning options for funding post-secondary educational opportunities
• Assisting students in recognizing ways of maintaining and improving relationships with family, friends, teachers and employers, and helping them understand and respect individual and cultural differences.
